I have modificated this great Board Game to a 6 Player Game and a lot more.

FAN MADE EXPANSION FEATURES v2.16:

- Full 6 Player Support (original max. 4 Players)
More Player means more Action. Dive in the world of The Walking Dead with your friends.

- Altered all Character-Cards for the look of Season 3!
Character Plates have the actual look of the show.

- Updated special abilities for each characters
Each character has his unique matching special ability.

- Added 20 Scrounge Cards
For six player support!

- Added 6 new playable Characters
Choose Daryl, T-Dog, Michonne, Maggie, Carl and Hershel

- Added 4 Zombie character pieces inclusive female zombies
You can choose more Zombie Pieces to hunt the survivors.

- Added 6 Special Ability Tokens
Now you can track, if a special ability has been used up.

- Added 1 Team Zombie, 1 Team Survivor Token, 8 Ally Tokens and 8 Location Tiles
For six player support!

- Added new Encounter Cards
More variety of Walkers will try to kill you on the streets.

- Replaced original map with 16 Map Tiles for a new random map every game
You don't longer need the original Game Board. With 16 Street-Squares called Map Tiles you build a different Atlanta each game. Every new game needs a new strategy.

- Added 2 new Corner Locations: The Fuel Station and the Pawn Shop
Introducing new Locations to the game. With the Pawn Shop, you can get Fate Cards or your Special Ability back. Or you decide to visit the Fuel Station to get more movement with Jerry Cans. You still need only 4 Locations. It's your decision.

- Added 2 minor new Buildings: Motorcycle Shop and Firestation
These buildings can upgrade your character, if you got the special Fate Card in your hand.

- Added 12 Jerrycans for the Fuel Station
Jerry Cans are everywhere in Atlanta. You can collect Jerry Cans for the Fuel Station to provide your character a faster movement. But watch out, other survivors want them too.

- Added 27 different types of FATE Cards for advanced strategy (total 45 cards)
This is a brand new deck of cards. Fate Cards are kept hidden in your hand and can be played on yourself or on other survivors. Some are good, some are nasty. Are you a good guy or a bad one?

- Added Prison Map Tile (Alternate Camp)
You can head back with your 4 Locations to the Camp or try the saver way to the new Prison. But be carefull, the prison has many fences and you have to stop many times to get into the building.

- Added 6 different new Walker Cards
Walker Player get 6 new different Walker Cards to kill the remaining survivors

- New Sewer System
Walkers can use Sewers to move quickly through Atlanta to head up the survivors.

- Added New Encounter Boss Cards: Walker Herd, The Governor and Merle Dixon
With the new encounters, there are Boss Fights. Fight together against the Walker Herd or battle with another survivor with Merle Dixon. But be aware, the Governor is out there and he is unpredictable and dangerous.

Looks like fun!
As for the clips... we don't sell them separately. If you have a boardgame collection, you can probably scavenge some from another game. Or tape a coin to the bottom of the character piece to create a base.

Unfortunately I don't have another board game with these sort of clips. I tried the coin suggestion, but that's not good. Tried to build something on my own, but nothing worked well so far. Bad luck, that I can't buy them somewhere...

Sure! First of all you need to scan in all the stuff. I used Adobe Photoshop and Indesign to alter the graphics. Than I printed out all pieces and clued them on a shoe box. Next step, cut it out. There you have all tokens and character pieces. The scrounge cards were to thick for my laser printer, so I printed them out in a Copy shop. Took me about 6 bucks. ;)

I really recommend everyone to modificate it for 6 players. Its just awesome with 6 friends. Played about 14 hours last weekend and it was a lot of fun. :)

Special abilities for the new character:
Michonne can add 1 to every melee weapon she uses on an encounter.
Maggie can change a Giddy up card for an ally.
Carl can distract a walker player and move him/her back to spawn space in the sewers.
Daryl can get back all his crossbows after a fight, even there was no 5 or 6 rolled.
T-Dog can instantly move to another survivors space, if he has no allies left.

I finished a custom map named Streets of Atlanta. We have to test it first, but if the map is fun, I can share it with the community. ;)

Hey Whesley, your mod sounds great. Would you be interested in selling a set? If not I have a couple more questions about making the stuff. What are your 20 extra scrounge cards? Going thru my deck I see there are 11 different types of cards, so did you add 2 cards for every set of 4, add 1 card for every set of 3 and add 1 for the set of 2 and making the ZOMBIE GUTS card the 20th card? So the 6 player deck would consist of:
6 AXE
4 SACK OF GUNS
6 RIFLE
6 SHOTGUN
4 PICK
6 CROSSBOW
6 BASEBALL BAT
3 NON LETHAL WOUND
6 GIDDY UP
6 SHORTCUT
6 HAND GUN
1 ZOMBIE GUTS

Is that correct? Also what did you make the extra scrounge cards out of? Did you also glue to shoe box and cut it out or did you print it up on photo paper and cut it out or glue it to another playing card? You may want to patent this idea. You did a really good job.

Hello Smoke!

You are right! That's exactly the additional deck! ;) I went to a copy shop for the additional Scrounge cards, because they can print on heavy paper front and back. Took me about 10 $, because they cut them too. With the golden line, you can quickly shuffle them out, if there are only 4 players or play hardcore mode, shuffle the whole deck and took away 20 cards. Oh god, there are often no Non lethal wound cards left or only 2 shotguns and so on. ;)

The rest is glued on a shoe box and cut it out. Used a laserprinter, because with ink printer the color will go away fast on everything.

I don't sell or patent, because the stuff is owned by Cryptozoic and AMC. ;)

We tested the stuff and balanced some things:

Special abilities for the new characters:
Michonne can add 2 to every melee weapon she uses on an encounter. (previous 1)
Maggie can change a Giddy up card for an ally and a Scrounge card. (+ Scrounge Card)
Carl can sneak away from an encounter he just drawn. He win and lose nothing. Can not be used on a walker player attack or onto a corner space.
Daryl can shot his personal crossbow after a fight with the attack strength of 4. (like the axe, just on himself)
T-Dog can instantly move to another survivors space, if he has no allies left. (works fine)
Lori can move any survivor 4 spaces. (previous 1, just to weak)

New Map "Streets of Atlanta" is in final test phase and works fine so far. :)

Nice job Whesley! My kids and I have had a lot of fun with the original game, but were all pretty disappointed that we couldn't play as Daryl.

Thanks. You can download the additional characters and print them out to play with them on the original board as well. Give it a try, it works like a charm! ;)

Daryl is mostly played on our games and has a nice special to save your ass. ;)

Hi Whesley. Thank you so much for making this for us, it really keeps you from getting tired of the usual and makes it more interesting. We had our first test run and had a blast with it, but there are a few questions we have and hope you can clear them up for us.

The Chased card. If on 2nd encounter at the corner space and lose. Do you still get the Location tile anyways and move back? or do you move back and on next turn fight 2 more encounters again? Also this card along with the Walker in the Well card still suffer bites right or no?

The Walker Herd 20 card had us stumped. How exactly does this work? Do we each (in the region) get to roll and add those together? Can we play a shotgun or other cards to help?

Shanes new special ability. If on a corner space do I have to move 3 spaces even if it's my first encounter for Location tile?

Michonnes special ability. Does that mean on my turn and the player in my regions next turn get +1 attack then lose it after?

T-Dogs special ability. Obviously it can't be used to get to a corner space but it can't be used while on a corner space either right? Even if you have the location tile.

If you lose this fight, you have to move back and you are NOT on the location corner anymore, so you can't get the location tile. You have to move on the corner space once again on your next turn and fight the two encounters again. Very nasty! At least you suffer no bites from the Chased Card.

No, you suffer no bites from this card. You are losing your special ability, which is, punishment enough! ;) To be clear: If you win, you get the CURRENT top card from the pile, not the just played one.

That card has a bad description, because of the lack of space. ;) If Daryl for example draws the herd, he can play his weapon cards and has one roll for his attack as usual, but, before rolling the die, other players in his region can help him out with strength scrounge cards like shotgun, rifle, ...! ONLY Daryl may roll the attack die. The other players can help him or not, but only with scrounge cards. Remember, you can add every +1 and +2 spaces as well! Get the "20" together! ;)

Special Hint: If other players play the shotgun and Daryl rolls a 1, they have to face the additional encounter for their own!

You MAY move the 3 spaces, you don't have to move at all, if you don't want to. If Shane uses his ability and move from the corner space, he will not get the location tile, because he is not on the space anymore. That would be dumb! ;) (like the Chased Card)

No. If Carl, Rick and Daryl are in your region for example and you are using Michonnes ability, you can add +4 (Michonne counts as a survivor) to Michonnes current attack roll. Very cool, if all six players are in one region... +6, damn bitch! ;)



T-Dogs special ability. Obviously it can't be used to get to a corner space but it can't be used while on a corner space either right? Even if you have the location tile.

Yes, you can't "jump" from or to a corner space! Tests with this ability showed, it's too powerful, if T-Dog can jump from one corner space directly to another. Now with this restriction he has to think, what's the best moment for his ability. My Cousin plays T-Dog all the time, he loves the risk of this ability! ;)

I'm super late to reading through this, but I have to say that New Shane's power should be something like:

"Once per game on your turn, after drawing your encounter card, if you share a space with another survivor, you may force that player to fight it instead, then move an additional 2 spaces. (Draw and resolve a new encounter card as normal after moving 2)"

RIP, Otis. :(

Thanks, this helps us alot. What you created is impressive and hope to see more coming additions. Keep hoping that Cryptozoic will release another one but you bridge that wait.

The Zombie Guts card was a great idea. Will there be more scrounge cards? Sophia was a huge moment in The Walking Dead so it def needed its own card but it never seems to hit us hard. Then again most of the time we only have like 2 or 3 at the most allies. I like what Skinner said, I was thinking about something like that aswell. Maybe even an Otis encounter like "choose one : remove an ally from the pool or discard 2 scrounge cards." I thought for sure Daryl's special ability would have something to do with crossbow.

What are these fate cards exactly and will we see them?

Thanks! Shane's ability was a big discussion in our board gaming group. We have one player, who plays Shane every time and with the original ability, he was mobbed from the whole group and, yes, hated. But he likes the character Shane, not his ability. So we altered it to a friendlier ability. Shane is very strong in handle big weapons, so he double the heavy weapons and move fast. But yeah, the idea from Skinner is great. You can play that that way too. ;)


The Zombie Guts card was a great idea.

I have created that Zombie Guts Card because of geting 60 cards for six players. Without that card, it would be only 59 with the original Scrounge Cards. It's a life saver. :)


Sophia was a huge moment in The Walking Dead so it def needed its own card but it never seems to hit us hard.

That card is only in the pool to scare the "Ally-Collector-Player". If you have many scrounge cards, you fear the "Out of Reach". If you have many allies, such as 3, 4 or 5, you fear Sophia! Rolling a 1 can be catastrophic. Maybe I get a better idea of altering Sophias encounter effect. We will see. ;)



I thought for sure Daryl's special ability would have something to do with crossbow.

In the first version, Daryl had his special ability based on the "Crossbow" Cards. But if you don't have on of these cards, the ability is useless. There are only 6 in the 6 player mode. So we altered it to a base +4, which is his crossbow, shooting after he failed with the "other" weapons or he needs additional boost.



Will there be more scrounge cards? - What are these fate cards exactly and will we see them?

Instead of creating more scrounge cards, there are new FATE Cards. These cards can be played and are working like a buff or debuff for other players. They are increasing the tactical scopes. We are currently balancing the FATE Cards and I will share it here, if they are final. So keep a look at this Thread. :)

Some are inspired of the Board Game Zombies!, which has great cards, but the gameplay is boring. In the TWD Board Game, it's a blast. We have map tiles and many bonus buildings like Hospital, Firestation, Shopping Mall and Motorcycle Shop.

Thanks, man. It was a lot of work, but it's so much fun playing. We are tweaking the balance between Survivor and Zombies. If it is balanced, I change the artwork and the cards, so I can release this mod in the next months to share this with you guys. :)

Update on the unofficial expansion: We are getting closer to the Release Candidate on every game! The balancing is now good, but not perfect.
