Deathstroke's first appearance attack reads: "Each player reveals his hand and destroys a hero, super power, or equipment in his hand or discard pile."

So do you only need to destroy a card if you have one of those in your hand? Or do you need to destroy one from your discard pile even if you don't have any of those in your hand? And if it's the second one, what's the point then of revealing your hand?

If you have one in either place, you will have to destroy one in one of those places.
Yes, you will have to destroy one in your discard pile even if you don't have one in your hand.
The point of the reveal is so you can't get out of it too easily by not having any cards in your discard pile.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I explained it to my girlfriend just now. Her response was "Ohhh, ok, that makes sense... I still don't like that card!" lol

I don't care if she likes it or not, she kicked my ass at this game 3 times in a row last night!
