Being built from the ground up to support digital play, I would hope there is a more interesting answer than "You lose the game". Do we know what the result is in this scenario?

Would be cool if it reshuffled your deck, but everything costed double to cast and you took 1 point of damage each draw step.

The decking rule is to ensure that games end. I think its a fine rule and is simple to understand.

Plus some decks count on running the other player out of cards.

While they could try something inventive, I think that is a staple that exists for good reason. Otherwise a control deck would play stall every time, and draw like crazy to get combo pieces, and win conditions, without any consequences.

Decking out is fine, but maybe they could add in challenge matches with custom rules.

I do love a good mill deck. Thats a good point.

Haha true, i despise being milled out. I always play more of a attacking/agro deck in TCG's, so when i do get milled it really burns me :).

My first deck in MTG was a Counterspell-Mill deck. Fun and extremely annoying to play against. Throw in a few Feldon's Canes, Howling Mines, and Racks... *whistles innocently*

Hopefully the game develops fast enough to enable various deck types. Having over 350 cards for a first set is nice but there's also a lot more spread with eight races, five colours, and more card types. As opposed to MTG's Alpha Edition with roughly the same number of cards but less spread.

I thought I saw somewhere that Set 1 focuses on just 4 of the races but I can't find where that is now so maybe I just imagined it.

Nope, I saw that too! Orcs, humans, Dwarves and Bunnies.

Some of the cards add more cards to your deck (i.e. Pack Raptor) as you use them so essentially your deck could start to grow exponentially as the game goes on.

I think it's more the 4 that have been introduced from the first article. If you look at some of the teasers that are coming out, you're starting to see the other 4

And as others have said the focus may be the other races at first...that wouldn't mean there would be absolutely no cards for the other 2...

True, but a slow reveal of the other 4 races and their mechanics seems a good stragety, plus think of it from the mmo point of view, if the focus is on races you dont want to play, early on could make things difficult. I'd just wait to declare a focus until we see more cards, i think we've currently seen somewhere around 10% of the set

This honestly shouldn't be a concern. There's going to be so much meta game that the least of your worries should be about running out of cards.

Except that (if you were to lose if you run out of cards) it may create a meta of it's own (i.e. Mill decks). I wouldn't mind not seeing them but they've never bothered me as much as some other people...

Thats how it works in Magic and though you wil occasionally see a meta where mill decks are viable (the current Standard meta for example) they're really never oppressive.

Personally i hope mill decks are viable, it's always been one of my favorite deck types (Especially in the rare draft format where they can work)

I agree, they are usually a nuisance. But look at what Hex is already capable of - I wouldn't be surprised if we see some nasty targeted mill cards, that select specific cards out of your deck, or other nasty effects, like that certian card that does deck damage...

Of course, as has been earlier stated, cards like pack raptor are perfect meta against mill, so it's interesting

HEX!!!! Y U NO OUT YET!!!!!
