View Full Version : Android & iOS support

I saw that the 1.5 million goal for tablet support has not been reached yet. I am hopeful it will be hit but in case it doesn't are there plans to develop for mobile somewhere down the line. This is such a huge issue for me and one that TCGs seem to overlook.

On an unrelated note the game looks amazing and I will be upping my pledge on payday!!!!

The only other mention of tablet support other than the stretch goal was that the game was designed with mobile in mind. But between the last minute rush at the end of the campaign and PayPal pledges I don't think you have anything to worry about: the 1.5 million goal will be hit.

Yeah they mentioned they have built the game from the ground up with mobile support in mind. But given the amount of time left, it's almost guaranteed that we will hit 1,415,645. (If we hit that then paypal donations bump it to 1.5)

So, what was said basically is that if they get this stretch goal, they can bring in a team to do the mobile design basically right after the kickstarter. If they don't get it, they'll have to wait till a later date to get the funds to pay for the team to come in. It'll come either way, but with a reasonably significant time difference. No worries though, as it should be able to make it just fine if you count paypal. There's less than $100k to go, so it should be done by the weekend.

48 hours, max. That's how long I give it to hit the 1.5 million.

And if we don't, June 4 will be another 6 digit day.

Haha, I am in the same boat MrKunle. Anyone have a suggestion for a tablet? Although I suppose we have a few months to decide.

I enjoy my Nexus 7 a lot. I plan on trying to play Hex on it, unless I lose my mind and get a Nexus 10 as well.

The Galaxy Series looks good :)

Anyone have any feedback on the IPAD 4 (retina display one) vs any of the 10 inch Asus model Androids. Also anyone know if Windows 8 tablet will be a thing?

Nexus 7 is pretty cheap for all that it does, also it looks to be one of the supported models

To play Hex on a Windows tablet you would have to buy the non-RT version. If you do you'll be able to play the Windows desktop version. I don't know if they'll make any significant UI changes for the iOS and Android versions but I would think they'll at least be somewhat optimized for touch whereas the Windows desktop version won't. I really doubt they'll do a touch optimized version for Windows RT. But, who knows, there might not be a huge UI difference and it won't matter what tablet you play it on.

My plans are to get an iPad 4, already own an iPhone and have all my suff sorted there, so it only makes sense to link up everyhing, even hough it is the most expensive table >_<

If it makes you feel better, ipad 4 16gb is $499, Nexus 10 32gb is $499, Asus Transformer Infinity $499, Samsung Galaxy Note 10,1 $490, and Windows Surface Pro is $899 so other tablets are just as expensive =)

I'm thinking of picking up an iPad near the end of the year, if work doesn't buy me one. It's either that or get a new laptop, and for what I use my laptop for a tablet would probably be just as effective.

I do wonder how many people have over/multi-pledged and will back out as this nears the end, though. Seen lots of people say they're sitting on multiples of some tiers. The level of growth in backing through PayPal (where you can't back out) is tiny compared to KS, despite the problems KS holds for many with regards to payment.

Despite how many back out, Tablet support was always going to be implemented. Its just with the extra money, they can get working on it sooner.

05-30-2013, 03:13 AM
Yeh, but they only get the extra money if people actually honour their commitments. I'd hope that CZE have the sense not to order / sign any agreements until they know exactly what they're getting from KS and that the community is mature enough to understand that just because KS says they made ONE POINT EIGHT MILLION DOLLARS or whatever it ends up being, doesn't mean they did.

nexus 7 is such a great tablet for its price runs any emulation flawlessly and its smaller format is a nice plus for me. Just hope they will get the interface right to fit the smaller screen of the nexus 7/ipad mini etc

They should, when making apps, you can see how it looks at different resolutions.
