Yay for hitting 1.8mil and here goes for 2.1mil!

I love the idea of expanding on lore with these two instantly-loveable characters and I couldn't help but wonder of the potential ways it could influence the game. I understand that they won't be focussing to heavily on new features to ensure the game is out as soon as possible and I support that completely, but this was just an idea that I hope creeps its way in down the track.

Given the influx of great men and women into Entrath, Dunthorpe and Bexley saw an opportunity to gain far more insight into the creatures of Entrath than they could do themselves. While they still intend on doing what they love; exploring and learning, they couldn't resist the opportunity to learn as much as possible.

The idea is fairly straight-forward. Dunthorpe and Bexley are quest-givers. They want you to find out information on a particular species of creature. I'm sure there are many ways to implement this and this is just one idea of how it could be done.

The challenges with implementing this in my opinion would be about combat. I doubt Dunthorpe and Bexley would want us to go around slaughtering everything as we got this information. One way around this might be to add a "no hostility" caveat to the quests making them more of a puzzle.

When given the quest, you're given a deck to use. This deck will contain various non-combat cards like "Analyse Creature", "Diplomacy" and "Bluff" (Yes, I play D&D :P). You then go to location described with the deck and you enter an encounter. Essentially, you'll be up against a deck consisting of the creatures you need to investigate generally headed by their leader. When a particular type of creature comes up that you need information on, you need to use the "Analyse Creature" Basic Action to capture information on them. Once you have the information on all the creatures you were tasked with, you can attempt to leave the encounter diplomatically and head back to Dunthorpe and Bexley with the information.

I'm sure there are ways to improve on this and I'd love to hear what you guys think :)

This is a great idea!

Playing against monster themed decks.

You could make it overarching, like, when you finish a dungeon, you get a quest from them to go back to that dungeon and play through it once more. One of the fights is then converted to a Monster Hunt, where you battle a deck (still themed to the dungeon) with a specific monster (living in said dungeon) as your primary opponent. That way, there will for each dungeon be one or two additional quests thanks to D&B.

That's great. And when you finish their storyline, you get them as a Mercenary (together). I think that would be awesome.

Yes! That'll add some great re-playability to dungeons and even give further incentive to explore part sof the dungeon you may have ignored the first time.

Nice idea! I was trying to think of some meaningful rewards and having them as a Merc would be awesome.

One of my other ideas was doing a quest as an Escort mission. Now I know we usually hate them in MMOs, but hear me out. There could be an entire dungeon we need to explore but we need to bring Dunthorpe and Bexley with us for them to do their research. They'll become Troops in our deck that will always be in play and on the board as soon as we start an encounter. We need to win every encounter without letting them die and get them to do end :)

Hehe thanks! I just can't stop thinking about all the crazy awesome features they've already announced and end up trying to add my own spin to them :)
