Set 1, the set of around 350 cards will be the only set of cards for the first year after release? If so, I understand, just a little :(

Dunno who made that one up, but set 2 comes out 4 months after release and is already almost done development-wise. Set 3 has been started already.

Maybe they meant block 1 instead of set 1? A block usually consists of 3 sets, so there will only be a single block this year, but it will be set 1-3.

The problem is: is the "release" that set 2 follows. The beta, or the actual release; Which is scheduled for 2014.

They said they are currently aiming for a new full set every 4 months or so, so no, that isn't true.

OMG really? WOW <3 I actually said that "I would love if they could do a new set every 4 months, I know MTG does one every 3 months but 4 months is absolutely fine with me" maybe not word for word, and the guy replied telling me there will only be 1 set in the first year, I understand block format, and am extremely glad we will be getting (hopefully) 3 sets a year :) great news.

Once every 4 months is their planned schedule.

They are already play-testing Set 2, and they have cards in development for Set 3-6, I believe? Not sure on how far into the future they've prepared, but Set 2-3 are definitely being play-tested/dev'd, because they are in the same block.

I'm pretty sure there will be just one set in 2013. After that, we'll see.

If this company were Blizzard, then I would say what you heard might be close. Thankfully Blizzard has little or nothing to do with this game.

Yeah, beta doesn't count as release and I am pretty sure Set 2 will be 4 months after release. Which could end up being ~1 yr from now, and set 2 will almost certainly not be until 2014 sometime, so there are... elements that are true...

I concur with my pre-posters. After release, Crypto will try to run a 4-month-schedule but 2013 we'll see Alpha and Beta. Release should be somewhere in the first quarter of 2014 - so this year we'll likely see "just" set 1.

On the other hand: I think that it's good that we won't be swamped in cards just yet, that'll give us time to get aquainted with the game much of our lifetime will go into. By the time we'll make the shop-server of crypto crash with purchase requests for set 2 boosters we should know the game and be able to fully appreciate the new toys.
