View Full Version : T-Shirt orders - EU shipping!

This is a massive thing for the EU players, and I think it is amazing. I am glad CZE is not ignoring any of the international community (checking the shipping information, even smaller countries like New Zealand are included, which is a place close to my heart.)

I hate to say anything negative, but it is missing ONE thing - Paypal. If we could get Paypal, this would be perfect. Where I am living, I only have 2 options right now (and this is a limited time thing we are talking about) and those are Paypal, and Ideal (which CZE isn't supporting to my knowledge.) Both work more or less the same, but Paypal is widely accepted and CZE has used it with the kickstarter - could we get it for T-shirts as well? Otherwise my only choice is to ask for the kindness of a stranger to buy it for me, and pay them via paypal.

Still, not trying to detract from the amazing update - international players are getting treated equally, which is only good news!

No shipping to Spain. $17.25 shipping cost for one shirt.

They are ignoring/forgetting female shirts.

Ouch, bit expensive on the shipping, but at least it's available now. Works out better on the shipping if you're buying multiples, I've got a few friends buying and shipping on 5 shirts is $57.90 bringing it down to $11.58 a shirt instead of $17.25 so maybe if you have anyone else locally it's worth doing an order together.

Yea lol the shipping is as much as the shirt. No thanks.

The issue is that if the total cost inclusive of postage >$50 then you get a straight $15 customs clearing fee + VAT at 20%. Potentially 3 shirts will end up costing me $130.

If CZE had set up an arrangement with a local printer it would cost me half. This approach just makes no sense as the same 'blanks' are available here (American Apparel, Gildan etc.).

Even shipping to the US is pretty high. Just one of those things with how their store runs.

Other companies specialise in printing and distributing merchandise. They have the scale to produce at low marginal cost. CZE could sub it out, charge less and make the same profit. That's before you even consider customs etc.

This thread isn't meant to be here to bash the shipping costs - if you don't want the shirt enough to pay the shipping, no-one is going to force you. I personally want this, and would pay that shipping if needed - but I can't order without paypal.

As for womens sizes, I figured they were either unisex, or the smaller sizes would fit fine - my girlfriend does that sometimes with male only shirts and it doesn't make a difference. Still, it might be nice to fix that oversight - better something designed to fit, rather than something you might not be able to wear.

@SamCube - same here. Looks like I'm buying Wondercraft tees instead ;)

We're disappointed, not bashing at all. Just trying to understand the logic.

Interesting progression...

Cryptozoic announces T-shirts for US availability.
Fans are happy.
Overseas fans asked for access to the tees.
Cryptozoic says they don't have plans to offer them overseas.
Overseas fans say "Pleeeeaase!"
Cryptozoic works out a way to make T-shirts available overseas.
Non-US fans say "WTF?? Forget you, that's way too expensive!"/"WTF?? You say overseas, but I can't get it in my country!"

I no longer wonder why overseas fans usually get the finger on physical merchandise.

I'll probably still end up getting all three and chancing my arm at bypassing customs. I just love Hex so gosh darn much!

Thanks for your opinion. So your view is sod the non-US players as I'm getting what I want. I maintain that there is a better option available than printing in the US and posting globally.

No, and I apologize if I was unclear regarding my conclusion.

My view is that appeasing the overseas crowd doesn't appear to be a worthwhile endeavor, so I now understand why most companies don't even attempt it.

I don't disagree. This is why I'm so happy that Hex is fully digital. If I choose not to buy a T-shirt, I'm not really diminishing my gameplay experience :) It's nice to have the swag though!

I checked WotC and they charge $26 international shipping for a shirt. CZE's pricing is actual quite reasonable when compared with the competition!

Going to 'team up' with some other HEXers in the UK to try and cut down on shipping and taxes.

We are adding Spain and South Korea to the list of available countries. They should both be availabe in a few minutes. Sorry.

Seriously, people need some perspective. I am in China and although I won't be getting a shirt, I appreciate that I have the option.

To anyone arguing the logistics: would you rather they focus their energy on logistics or the game? I know they aren't the same people, but if they have to hire someone to do it, then we're already losing focus.

~If you are in China you can probably run across the street and get 3 different styles of knockoffs already anyway~

Wow $17 to Europe didn't seem that bad, so I was curious how much it was to ship to BC Canada (west coast.)

It's over $28 in shipping so the shirt is almost $50 for someone in Canada.

Does anyone from Europe managed to order the t-shirts? I tried both with my card and my gf's and got:
"Gateway Response: The transaction has been declined because of an AVS mismatch. The address provided does not match billing address of cardholder.
Payment declined. Please verify your information or change your payment method by selecting a new payment method below."

I'm pretty sure I've entered the correct address, so not sure if the problem is on my side.

More than 37$ for a tee shirt (shipping costs included)...it's a bit expensive, even if this game will be the best out there ! ^^

I'm going to try to make it myself with the right logo ;)

I'm from the UK and wish they could source a printer in Europe, $20 for a t-shirt sounds good but near enough $40 is ridiculous :(

I agree. They should just print these in Europe and offer EU-only shipping.

The shipping is rough, I agree. But not even giving you the option of buying for your country at any cost, seems just wrong.
I'm glad they are trying to fix that issue anyways.
As for offering T-shirt printing in Europe. I agree, it would make the shirts more affordable. I would imagine such a solution might be explored if the T-shirts where going to be available long term. But I imagine, to get the contract costs they are wanting on these, considering the limited amount they will sell, they might have had to commit the whole thing to one manufacturer.
Hopefully, at some point, when the game is successful, and there's a demand for new t-shirts. If the reconsider and offer hex shirts for sale again, they will take into account the international shipping costs, and contract with a company in europe, to provide a less expensive option for Euro/UK players. And if demand is enough, maybe one in Australia as well, for the New Zeland/ Aussie players.

@ Tiddley: is there any way in which we could be allowed to make a shirt for ourselves with the Ardent/Underworld logos? I doubt it, because of copyrights, but it never hurts to ask :)

Yeah, necro-d because it was linked in one of the threads necro-d by an Aussie :)

And the problem is that the company I used to make my shirts -does- care about copyrights. So I'd need some proof/permission from HEX Ent. otherwise they wont print my designs :)

hehehe woot i r master of making threads be necro'd (not that i actually necro'd anything), and support asking for rights to use images, when i got madman entertainment logo tattoo i called madman Australia to joking check for permission to do so, they laughed and said "yes and send us pics"
