Once upon a time on the Brainburst site forums I was playing a good game.
In fact, it was the MTG-game with three cards in decks. This format called "3CB" (3 card block)
I think this idea could be implemented in HEX. You choose 3 cards, then start duel ...
Every turn players choose Resourse-card then put it to hand. In the rest of the game is the standard rules.

The advantages of this format will:
simple deck building, quick battle, easy programming strong AI;

Other than that you can come up with various modifications for the 3-4 players;
For example: 3cb mini Draft, PvE, PvP, 2 vs 2 duel, 5cb, 7cb ?!

Dungeon defend: AI + 1player from "defendefs" player pool, vs 2players

But the most important thing is that we will be able to attract any player with seven - ten minutes of free time

Sounds horrible? You have a total of three playable cards outside of resources? Whats the point.

I'm also a little confused.
So you have three total cards in your "deck"...which I guess is also your hand?

Each turn you choose a resource card.
My second turn I take a second swamp and play Hymn to Tourach (or however it's spelled) and wipe out your hand.
My other two cards are now facing your one.

Am I misunderstanding?

It's not a deck, but a three card challenge. It's not really a game, because the winner can be "predicted". It was fun playing it on a forum, but not for a real format ingame.

See here for the magic 3 card challenge

Also resources are part of the three cards.

3 card formats are a lot of fun, at least I think so. Does someone want to host it. Are pve cards viable? Equipment? That would make things pretty interesting... But anyways if it's only pvp cards no equipment then just off the top of my head...

Lol wow, yeah those shuffle effects kinda break the game in this case don't they. Wasn't even thinking on that level.

Can I vote for a Final Fantasy VIII inspired triple-triad minigame?

If you want to redesign every card in the game so that it actually works in that format :P

Rock, paper, scissors sounds more interesting :p All fun, no resources :)

Eternal Youth would be pretty hard to beat in a pure race. Assuming you get to keep drawing when you return cards to your deck.

Chronic madness + sabotage would work well. (Even assuming no mill victory)

This could be a place to start. There may need to be a +2 or +3 modifier to the threshold so that the resource isn't always greater. Just my pot shot dream.

P=Power R=Resource # T=Threshold D=Defense

..1......P
2..3..R...T
..4......D
