Aloha,

I am new to TCG's for the most part, and am very confused by these two cards,

http://www.hex-datamine.com/cards/Hex-Engine/206
http://www.hex-datamine.com/cards/Surge-Mechanism/209

I understand that they both increase resources in some way?
But, what is the difference between the two. [2/0] VS. [0/1}

I don't get !!! Thanks in advance

+[X/0] means that you get X mana, but for that turn only. That is, you don't generate any extra mana as a result next turn. So Hex Engine gives you 2 mana whenever you activate it, but doesn't increase the amount of mana you get automatically each turn.

+[0/Y] means that you get no mana on that turn, but on each subsequent turn you get an additional mana. So Surge Mechanism gives you no immediate mana, but increases the amount of mana you generate automatically each turn.

For the record, sources give you +[1/1] - that is, they give you a mana for that turn, and increase the amount of mana you automatically generate each turn by 1.
