View Full Version : Fan Site Community Tournament

08-23-2013, 11:44 AM
It was started in a Twitter discussion between the fan sites but I also realize that a lot of fan sites don't have Twitter so I'll bring it up here as well. HexTCGPro.com would like to sponsor a community tournament where each fan site would have representatives from their staff entered into the tournament and battle against other website staffers. The idea is basically to just bring the community closer together (as well as bragging rights, of course.) It's going to be all in good fun and our staff is in the process of working out the details for a fun event rather than just having "A from B site VS. C from D site" for multiple rounds.

Please reply below if you're interested so that we can start getting some of the logistics together. We'll also have people streaming the event so that you can somewhat follow along at home.

HexTCGPro Staffers
Jax the Hexer
Hex Vault
Utopian Chaos

Hex Shuffle jumping in!

Maybe this could become a monthly+ thing? I can draw up a "trophy" that can be posted on the winning site as a visual bragging right perhaps?

A tagged trophy can work as good cross promotion...

I'm not sure if my site qualifies, but if it does I'll be in. I'll be streaming aswell ofc :)

I'm in, being the sole staff member at Casual Hex, as I said on twitter! :D

Ill volunteer from UC. I can show off my total lack of skills in whatever we are competing in :)

Friendly bump; is this still on?

I hope so, I'm totally all in for a long structure- Constructed, Draft, and Sealed :D

In case you are still seeing how much interest there is count me in as part of the hex vault crew. Honestly I think this would be fun to do monthly or once every three months just for the sake of something fun to do for the fan sites.

Secretly I might be rooting for hyena...

Nice. Hex Hunter is in.

Likely I mentioned on the www.hextcgpro.com thread, Hex Musings is in.

Technically, there are 4 of us on the staff there, what's your plan on maximum number of representatives per site? I know some bigger sites have like 15 contributing staff members, where some media elements are just a one man deal.

Secretly I might be rooting for hyena...

I might have a secret fan!

Though I'm thinking the experience behind Hex TCG Pro's staff is going to give them a clear edge- especially in a early post-release competition.

Friendly bump; is this still on?

If not, Threshold or Hex Vault would probably end up hosting it.

I am in but should there probably be a limit of how many representatives each fan site can have?

09-17-2013, 11:35 PM
I say if there is a limit, make it 4 or so. The more the merrier tbh :D

It's certainly still on. Once we can all get into Alpha, we'll set it all up. The community feedback has been amazing!

Any plans to combine this with the independent streamers tournament here (http://forums.cryptozoic.com/showthread.php?t=27568)?

09-19-2013, 08:05 AM
Would be a neat way to combine it... but seeing as how I'm a 1 man deal, not sure how my channel would fare lol... would need some advance notice of the timing of the event too (lets just say... there's only 168 hours in the week, and I'm working for about 90-100 of those lol... so have to shift my sleep around events :P)

If you take streamers then I'm interested!
