I've noticed several 3 letter names in Alpha but when I created my name, I could have sworn it rejected my own 3 letter name. Am I missing something? I certainly would prefer to use my own 3 letter name if given the option.

It is possible that the name you have chosen is taken

I would honestly be floored if it were taken in such a limited alpha as it's never been taken before in my gaming experience. And the message given did not imply it was taken if I have any recall.

Just tested this myself.
The UI button to choose your keep name doesn't become clickable until you type in at least 4 letters.
The minimum number of letters for a name have not been fully decided on yet.
Dhx, your name is not taken yet.

I am pretty sure you'll just got trolled. OP is first time poster and did you actually pronounce his three letter name

What is this minimum number of letters talk. I was able to name my keep one letter on day 1. I would be so sad to see it get revoked. C'mon now ;)

He most certainly did not get trolled. The name originates from the abbreviation of my original AOL (Rhydin) roleplaying character Darkhawkx. As I am no longer 13, I split the baby ~10 years ago with the abbreviation Dhx, each letter being pronounced in full.

I'm currently in Alpha as Westfall. And while I do like that name, it doesn't hold the same weight of personal history. I am a first time poster because I just joined the Alpha. Fairly straightforward there.

I'd like to support this request. I want to use my established over the years 3-letter nickname. Right now I've settled on my real name instead.

I would love the possibility a 3 letter name as well. (wouldn't mind a number suffix)

I can confirm that the button isn't clickable with only 3 letters in your keep name.

Don't expect to be able to create/keep a name less than 4 characters long.
At the moment, the UI button is honoring the current rules.
