This is the first pack of your booster draft. Ignoring the monetary value of the cards, which card would you pick for your draft deck?

Genesis Hydra over Survival of the Fittest. Not a very exciting pack outside of Wild.

I feel that Genesis Hydra is the best card of the pack, with survival of the fittest coming closely second

Yeah, the pack turned out pretty dull. That's why I went ahead and posted the next. Didn't see any reason not to post this one too :)

Yeah, good call.

Genesis Hydra - Cheap bomb, Wild is a strong colour for draft. It's even a strong contender for a hate draft.

Agree on Genisis, the other cards can be quite good in this environment, but require synergy. This would be more interesting as 'what would you pick first if this was pack 3'

If I had a good Ruby Diamond aggro going I would take blinding light, since that can be a wonderful reversal and can easily 2 for 1 your opponent, but I would only first pick that pack 3 if I already had a good low end creature base. If I've gotten a lot of artifacts, I would take the librarian over the adept, because limited games tend to be slower anyway, which is where this guy would shine, and Adept has higher odds of making it back around to me. If I'm hurting for cheap creatures and running blood, the High Born is useful as a double chump blocker, but of course, if I have wild in my deck that Hydra is getting picked.

Depending on how mortar strike winds up working, it would be lovely in a deck with heavy creature control, if it puts the other cards back, then you have a nice window of opportunity.

I'm pretty sure that I would take Survival over the Hydra. While the Hydra is very powerful it locks you into being base Wild immediately. While that isn't necessarily a bad thing since Wild is so powerful, I think Survival is close enough that the flexibility of it trumps the Hydra. Removal is always at a premium and even more so when it comes in a shard that doesn't typically have it. The +1/+1 that it gives is also very relevant.

I can't fault anyone for taking Hydra but for me the Survival of the Fittest is the pick.

Hydra, Survival (too conditional of a removeal card), Devoted Emissary (think about major socketed creatures and comes into play effects), Research Librarian, Call of the Grave, Nibblin Hunting Pack, Adaptable Infusion Device, Shadowblade Lurker, Captain of the Dragon Guard, Research Assistant, Shin'har Highborn, Wall of Corpses, Blinding Light, Ruby Aura, Mortar Strike
