I tired to get Hex working on an old machine running Vista (SP2) with 2GB Ram.
Intel Core 2 Duo E2220 2.4 GHz
Memory2 GB
Integrated graphics using GeForce 7100

Install and launch was fine, as was building a deck and challenging (PVP or AI) however, when the coin flips everything slows down to a very slow pace, the hand takes a good 10 seconds to draw all of the cards and the game play is so slow it is unplayable. Any ideas ? -

My Windows 7 machine is total fine and my primary machine for Hex so it isn't essential but it would be nice to get this working if possible.

Hmm... maybe do a reinstall of the OS and add 2gb extra ram. It might just work...

Maybe go back to xp

Sorry... correct me if I'm wrong... but aren't integrated graphics and having a GeForce 7100 different? If it's integrated graphics it makes sense this is happening.

I'm going to take a stab at it being the low Ram, especially since this is an unoptimised Alpha client.

Monitor free levels as you play to see if it's running out or starting to page a lot?

Don't know if this helps but i'm playing Hex no problem at a similar pc with Windows XP; could be the Vista as somebody else suggested

Yeah Vista doesn't really have a good reputation.. You might wanna try XP.

Vista eats 2 gigs of ram all by itself. Turn off aero glass if you want any kind of performance.

Likely vista, I still have nightmares of when that OS was forced on us.
