I was always under the assumption that 1 win = 1 pack and the tourney structure at the end would look like this:

3-0
2-1
2-1
2-1
1-2
1-2
1-2
0-3

This leaves a win and pack count of 3-2-2-2-1-1-1-0.

So when we had a swiss sealed where two people won 3 times and two people never won at all I raised a ticket. The guy who came second only got 2 packs but 3 wins and this is the response i got:

"Thank you for contacting HEX Customer Support. The matchmaking process is automatically worked out upon entering the draft, this does not change depending on the decks used in this situation."

So the matchmaking is predetermined before game one? no matter you're results?

I played another draft before raising the ticket where I played a 2-0 guy in the final match and I was 0-2 so I went 0-3 but still got 1 pack due to being 7th over another guy who was 0-3.

edit: Just extra info. I provided a screenshot for my first ticket showing the results:

3-0
3-0
2-1
2-1
1-2
1-2
0-3
0-3

I have to ask how this happened. Because based on when i did sealed a few times what happens is the 4 people who won round one played each other and the 4 who lost played each other thus after round 1 it is

1-0 vs 1-0
1-0 vs 1-0
0-1 vs 0-1
0-1 vs 0-1

Then after round 2 the 2 players who won 2 games plays each other and the 2 people who lost 2 games play each other and the 2 losers from the 1-0 group play each other and the 2 winners from the 0-1 group play each other thus it should ALWAYS end

2-0 vs 2-0
1-1 vs 1-1
1-1 vs 1-1
0-2 vs 0-2

which becomes

3-0
2-1
2-1
2-1
1-2
1-2
1-2
0-3

I have no idea how you managed to get 2 people at 3 wins and 2 at 3 losses. This totally perplexes me.

longstoryshort; Swiss matchmaking can be pretty messed up. That's one of the reasons why we don't have swiss drafts yet. They're working on it

Round 2 saw people who won round 1 playing people who lost round 1. Then the finals saw at least one game where a 2-0 played a 0-2. The part that got me was my ticket answer saying there was no problem.

I wish I had kept the screenshots, I assumed when I attached them to the ticket I'd be able to recover them but they are 15x15 tumb nails in my ticket. The two tourneys in question are 11046 and 11099 if anyone from CZE want to check on it.

Yeah this post by Cory (http://forums.cryptozoic.com/showthread.php?t=35067&page=4&p=366718&viewfull=1#post366718) said there as a bug with Swiss pairings. I didn't realize we actually had Swiss sealed tournaments running at the moment.

The way swiss prizes are supposed to work, in my experience, is that you win one pack per match-win. Looking at the rewards list in the game, it's not based on match wins, just your ranking. I don't think they should do it this way... it would nice if CZE chimed in here.

I'd recommend creating a thread in the beta bug reports forum.

Edit: Figured it out more

I'm willing to bet that one of the 0-3's got a single pack, basically, a swiss tournament should always end with this price structure.
3-2-2-2-1-1-1-0

Since the pairing bug is making things like two 3-0 winners possible as a bug, second, third, and fourth should always get 2 packs, so it see's someone in second, and assigns two packs. It doesn't actually keep track of wins and losses. I imagine if a swiss tournament was bugged, and games never started, the first person to surrender would get 0 packs, second, third, fourth to surrender would all get 1, five-seven 2, and the last would get three.
