Has anyone tried HEX with windows 10 so far? I'm interested if it works without problems.

I've tested it internally and not seen any differences from running it on Windows 8 or 7.
Should be fine.

Numbers don't matter... :D If you want the highest number use Windows 2000 ^^

No, they had internally other plans and transferred it to 10... it will as well be the last main version of windows

It's, like, 3 Windows better than 7, so that must be really, really good.

They skipped 9 because certain coders took shortcuts in their code and listed Windows 95/98 as Windows 9x. Obviously that would conflict with Windows 9. Therefore, they skipped to Windows 10 to avoid compatibility issues.

so laziness lead to a jump in progress aka 8 jumps to 10, humanity ftw!!!!

I read about the 95/98 thing. Another reason cited was that 9 is unlucky in Japan. Here, for example, there will never be a Windows 13.

Reminds me of a great Mitch Hedberg bit.

My hotel doesn't have a 13th floor because of superstition, but come on man, people on the 14th floor, you know what floor you're really on.

"What room are you in?"
"1401"
"No you're not! Jump out the window, you will die earlier!"

Because 13 is an unlucky number, right? Well that's what the letter B should be right, because B looks like a scrunched together 13.

"Hello, what is your name?"
"Bob"
"Get the unicornpoop away!""

If 13 is an unlucky number, then 12 and 14 are guilty by association.

"12, I know I saw you with 13."
Twelve: "No I wasn't, I was with 11. You talk to 14 about that unicornpoop."
"What do you have to say, 14?"
"Me divided by 2 equals 7... alright, I was with 13, unicornpoop."

7 8 9
Guys. The real reason that they skipped 9 was because he was eaten by 7!
It is true!

It can't be this, internally windows uses a completely different version than what they publicly announce as its name. Its the same reason the third xbox is the xbox one.

I was under the assumption that Windows 8 sucked so bad that Microsoft wanted to distance itself as far away as possible. IE: Windows 10 must be leaps and bounds better than 8 looking at the naming convention. To support my theory I pulled from thin air, they are giving away their OS for the first year for free for those with 7/8.

I like Windows 10... have been a beta tester for quite sometime and no issues experienced with Hex on the laptop.

Granted I was a bit of a later switch over, but I never understood the hate for 8.

Having seen it in action, it didn't seem bad, but the tablet/panels thing seemed like it would be wasted on me. I might take a whack at 10, but I didn't intentionally skip 8 because it seemed bad, it just didn't seem like it was worth the upgrade at the time.
