Hi HEXers. Remember, you're just a few days away from being able to collect Invitational Qualifier points. For PVE fans out there, we have two Diamond PVE card previews designed to show a little bit of the new space the reward cards will inhabit. Plus, we show you the latest version of our globe!

I'm really looking forward to all of the customization available with PvE - the idea that our deck is an extension of our character really resonates with me. Between the Talent Tree, our deck itself, gems, and any other multitude of crazy ways to customize ourselves, I really believe in the potential of Hex

Great update!

Oh wow I love Ethereal Caller that's pretty nice! I also am in love with the Howling Plains board.

Tournaments begin awarding invitational points on October 6th at 10 AM Pacific. You can find the link to check your global time here, as well as read all the other info you need to participate. You’ll want to secure your spot at the Invitational as early as you can, and remember that you can play in multiple Qualifiers so you’ll want many, many points. Daily tournaments award up to 10 points to a single player, so they’re your best bet for qualifying. See you Monday at 10 AM and don’t forget to tell all your friends about this amazing tournament series!

The 6th is actually Tuesday.

It's actually Ethereal Healer.

OK, nice tidbit of a tease with regards to PvE Globe and a couple of cards. Now, to THE real question, at least I expected something to be mentioned about it. Any news about the impending upcoming next week patch?

Looking good guys, I can't wait to see more PVE cards in the game when the campaign is released. Also I think the region selections on the globe is nice, though I'm assuming the regions themselves will be more defined and distinct when it's finished. I look forward to seeing more, thanks! :)

Hey, I'm just as excited and want an extra day to farm IQ tickets. If you're cool with starting it on Monday, so am I.

Brief but good update. The ghost thingie is another great example of how Hex can go out of bounds with a digital format.

Very nice! These type of PvE tidbits should really help keep the PvE diehards engaged, especially if there is such a video at least every 2 weeks (every week if you can!). :)

See this was nice to see, it didn't have to "spoil" much of anything, no real information for exactly what the new regions on the globe represent or spoiling of content that would entail. Instead it showed us a couple upcoming PVE cards and the updated globe. In my opinion updates like this get to be a bit like "having your cake and eating it too" since you get the joy of baseless speculation and then then eventually when you get to finally slice in you find out whether it's chocolate and vanilla or meatloaf with mashed potato icing.

I don't mind things being brief, I just appreciate the idea that since we're supposed to be looking at a fairly near release of PVE (it should at least make it to the test server before the end of the year I'd guess) we should be able to take a peak behind the curtain from time to time.

I kinda hope they eventually use mechanics like this in PvP. Since the game client is rule master and judge, if your opponent started out with more life, you could be sure that rules were followed. You wouldn't have to trust your opponent. And by having some modified starting board state, your opponent would be giving you some information. Seems fair.

Start with a charge? Your opponent starts with a benefit to offset how awesome the card is if you draw it? I like the notion.

Love the update this week, and not just because I finally earned my way on to a card list article. ;)

Ardent Recruiter definitely has a place in my collection - not sure who the bomb card would be in his deck right now (Angels, cavaliers and the Citadel aren't Ardent cards), but there'll surely be some good fits with more equipment for existing cards.
Also while I do adore Valiant Escort and Protectorate Defender, a quality (non-unique) cheap diamond troop with 3 defense is something I've been wanting for a while - no more fear of Heatwaves and Ballistic Expert Machinists!

Ethereal Healer is a nice card for new players, but I'm not sure I'd need it myself unless it has nice gear or Holy Ascension is taken to the next level by equipment/the cleric class - in which case 4 health just for deck composition could be a big deal. :)

Exciting news. Rather interested at what mecanics PVE dungeons can bring to the table, and also really liked the new appearance of the globe. Here's hoping we get other peeks at PVE in future updates.

Hmm I like Ethereal Caller and Recruiter I wonder ig Underworld will get one? Though unless there are a lot of diamond coyotles I'm not sure I'll ever use these two. Then again I have next to no faith in deck building..

I'm sure there'll be an Underworld Recruiter; likely a blood Necrotic, since that's the opposite of a diamond Human lore-wise & they are the race unifying the Underworld faction.
Hopefully 1/3 stats too, as 3/1 wouldn't be ideal for a troop you want to keep in play! :)

Really lovely update, thanks! Love the cards and glove spoiler. Looks fantastic.

Tiny tidbit gleaned from the rps shout out, the wording says "always-improving ai".
Does this imply that the live version is always improving? (I haven't observed any, but maybe it is too gradual to notice atm). Or do we just infer that it's always improving, but we don't have access to that version of the ai still?

It's always improving, but those updates to it go out in patches.

I like the card that adds health. Imagine a very powerful card that removes health as a penalty. Then play with the legendary card that changes your hero when your health doubles. Its the small fun things I look forward to.

Well the PVE grumbling thread is gone now, so I figured this is as good a place as any to put this:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comicsandcosplay/comics/critical-miss/14724-The-Kickstarter-Burger

I figure the Hex Entertainment LLC crew, as well as the community at large that may not have seen it might find it amusing, especially as I myself have been rather heavy on the food analogies lately.

Not totally baseless. It's been awhile, but I think I remember Loregoyle or one of the other Dev (or possibly a work of creative editing made up by my faulty memory) saying that most of the story and content we've seen as of now is mostly based in and around the Carloth region of Entrath. Which in turn is only a small region compared to the total expanse of Entrath.

We may not be able to theorize much on what might be in the new unnamed regions on the globe, but we do know what's going to be in them though: different stuff. Different races, possibly different cultures/colors of races we've already seen, new allies and enemies, new raids and dungeons, etc.

The existing story is definitely all from one area of the globe, Erukk - in and around the general region of Carloth. That's been said in many places, including some of the lore articles on hextcg.com. There are huge swaths of the globe that we won't be able to explore until much later in the game's lifecycle. :)

Are you saying the entire story of Hex up to this point been in one 'continent'?!

Are you saying the entire story of Hex up to this point been in one 'continent'?!

Ya. In a very crowded region of a continent really. I guess it helps that half of the races live underground, because they would be stepping over one another if they all lived top side.

Thank you for the confirmation on that. My memory can get a bit muddled at times when it comes to the little details, and I forget where and which article mentioned what and which dev said it. That's why I usually add my faulty memory disclaimer to stuff I can't source out of hand.

Hopefully when they add in the dungeons and the zoom in feature for the globe, we'll have a better understanding on where everyone in situated in the Carloth region and the spacing in-between. Because as I said to Wolf, Carloth is a bit cramped when you simply read it as eight major races living and fighting in the same region without any context when it comes to the scale of the landmass.

The Accidental Knight helps with this somewhat, as it goes into a bit of detail on the distances traveled between the various areas. The humans live in the city regions of what they call Carloth, but on the same continent are the Howling Plains that the Coyotle predominately live in, as well as the Feralroot Woods (among others) that the Elves live in. At another location somewhere triangularly-located from the woods and the plains, across a desert-type region, are the mountains where Kog'Tepetl stands, and that's where the Orcs call home, though of course the races travel around a fair bit. Those are just their "home" regions as we've been introduced to them so far.

We seen Feralroot Woods and Howling Plains I wonder what the other 'capitals' have as their mats.
