On April 9th-10th, Hex players from across the world will compete for a chance to take home the elusive Wild Cup presented by the Dragonborn guild; this is the fifth and final open tournament in Season 3 of the FiveShards Shard Cup Series (http://fiveshards.com/the-shard-cup/).

The Wild Cup is singleton constructed—that is, all current PVP sets are legal. This will include set 4 if it launches prior to the Wild Cup.

Register here at the Battlefy page (https://battlefy.com/fiveshards/the-fiveshards-wild-cup-season-3-sponsored-by-the-dragonborn/56f04eb0755f368a126b8e09/info). Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the sponsor for this tournament?

The Sponsor for this cup is the Dragonborn Guild. They are a group of active PVP and PVE players with several names you may recognize from their wins in PVP tournaments (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eQ4RxxM14mOy2Fj3YLFfE2Gq8GHCMV2OiynwA9OTtAg/edit#gid=0) and their streams. Many of their players are Kickstarter backers that have played TCGs for many years and playtest frequently for PVP tournaments.

Specific Rules

1. We will stream the tournament from www.twitch.tv/fiveshards. We will cast all pairings, coverage, and rulings on this channel. Players should have it open/accessible to hear updated news. If you are casting the game, we highly recommend you use a card blocker and/or broadcast delay to enable us to do feature match coverage.

2. Reserves and Decklists:

A. We allow a 15-card reserve. Consequently, we require decklists of all participants. Decklists must include the Champion, 60+ card main deck, 0 or 15 card reserve (must be exactly zero or fifteen), and any gems used in the initial deck configuration. All participants must submit their decklists to us using this form (link (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rlI7BfyQ8gIzdPMm5IRZq56kCS2CN0doHCSPHgmnUc0/viewform?usp=send_form)) by 8:00am PST (WorldClock (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Wild+Cup%2C+Season+3%21&iso=20160409T08&p1=137)) on the morning of the tournament, April 9th. Do not post screenshots. Your submission must be in text. We will post the full set of decklists after the final round completes and also highlight the top 8 decklists.

Template for Decklist

Champion

Maindeck:
1x Card1
1x Card2
1x Card3
1x Card4 (Prime Ruby of Destruction)
So forth

Reserves:
1x More cards
1x More cards

Penalties for deck violations are here (http://fiveshards.com/the-shard-cup/rules-and-regulations/). Read this article (http://fiveshards.com/loose-decklists-sink-ships/) on why maintaining a proper decklist for tournament entry is important.

B. Deck Hashes: Deck hashes are in the game. A hash is a unique code for unique configurations of decks (including main deck and reserves). When you submit your decklist to us (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rlI7BfyQ8gIzdPMm5IRZq56kCS2CN0doHCSPHgmnUc0/viewform?usp=send_form), you must also give us your unique deck hash. This hash will become public information. At the beginning of every round, after players have started the challenge, the client will declare each player's hash to their opponent. Showing an incorrect hash will result in a game loss, immediate round restart (progressing to game 2). If the player still shows an incorrect hash, that becomes a match loss. Please do not alter your deck from the final list you submit to us; however, if you do alter your deck, make sure you send an updated list before the tournament starts.

Players that find an incorrect hash for their opponent need to screenshot their chat, display the full chat and game window in the screenshot, and contact a judge.

C. If hashes are not working in the client, then we will default to the old deckcheck rules under point 9.

You can find your hash in the deck validation screen in deck builder (http://imgur.com/PiumFIx).

3. Confirmation: Confirmation begins at 8:00am PST (WorldClock (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Wild+Cup%2C+Season+3%21&iso=20160409T08&p1=137)) and the tournament starts at 9:00am PST (WorldClock (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Wild+Cup%2C+Season+3+Start+Time %21&iso=20160409T09&p1=137)). To confirm your participation, just log into Battlefy at any point within an hour prior to the start of the tournament (8:00-9:00am PST) and click the "Confirm" Button. If you do not confirm your registration prior to the tournament beginning, the tournament will automatically drop you; we cannot add dropped players once the tournament starts.

4. Matches: Matches will occur in the best 2 of 3 matches through the client. You can either initiate the match through the proving grounds by click challenge next to the person's name, by right clicking a whisper from the player and selecting challenge, or challenging them from your friends list. Each match is determined by the player that wins two games out of three. The match ends when one player wins two games.

The client handles who plays or draws first as follows: The client will decide the turn order in the first game using a coin flip. In subsequent games, the loser of the previous game will determine if they play or draw in-game. Once the tournament begins, any bugs will be treated as is and we will not be restarting matches except if a player can prove the game state has stalled and restarting the client does not resolve. Additionally, if a player does not get back to their game within the 5-minute window they have to reconnect, the game will award them a loss and we will not restart the match.

5. Reserves: The client handles this. If you used the wrong deck for reserves, we will not restart a match. Starting the match with the proper deck contents is the player's responsibility, even if your reserves are empty.

6. End-of-time Procedure: For most cases, time will occur through the client. If a person runs out of time, they lose the match no matter if they have won a previous game in the match. In rare cases, we may have to restart a match. In those cases, people will follow the end of time procedures as follows: When time is over, the current turn will finish and the players will play five more turns (combined, not each.) If neither player has won two games at this point and neither player has more wins, then the match is a draw. If, after 5 turns, the match is 1-0, then the player with one win wins the match.

7. Bugged Game Policy: Once the tournament begins, any bugs will be treated as is and we will not be restarting matches except if a player can prove the game state has stalled and restarting the client does not resolve. Additionally, if a player does not get back to their game within the 5-minute window they have to reconnect, the game will award them a loss and we will not restart a match. However, if it is clear that a player is using a bugged interaction in an exploitative manner to win matches, we will disqualify that player and they will be banned from future FiveShards tournaments.

8. Judges and Rules: The administrators of the tournament are also the judges for the event. For the Diamond Cup, the head judge is Zubrin and we will have a few judges on hand that provide you with a first point of contact. Violations, procedures, and penalties are here (http://fiveshards.com/the-shard-cup/rules-and-regulations/‎).

9. Deck Checks: If a player suspects that an opponent is playing with cards that are not in their original configuration for game one, or if they are playing with cards that are not in their decklist or reserves, the player can immediately ask for a deck check. A tournament judge will then cross-check the suspected cards with the submitted decklist. If the player is found in violation, they automatically lose the game. Players may request two deck checks throughout the tournament and checks resulting in penalties will not count against the player's total number of checks. Violations, procedures, and penalties are here (http://fiveshards.com/the-shard-cup/rules-and-regulations/).

10. Feature Match Policy: If you are playing in the Diamond Cup and are streaming, we take that as consent that you are willing to allow us to use your stream as a feature match on the main channel (twitch.tv/fiveshards). If, however, you would not like us to do this, please let us know as soon as possible and we will not host your stream. If you would like, you can use our official card blocker here:

11. Drop Policy: To drop from the tournament, you will submit a request to us via this form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1GXoOudA4AwFmupovwlD2QvcyKVtukeNOkGoBvUm1uAY/viewform?usp=send_form). You need to use your safeword (entered with deck registration) to properly drop from the tournament. If a player decides to end the tournament early, but does not fill out the drop form to remove themselves from the pool (or does not individually remove themselves from the tournament via battlefy) they will lose 1 Shard Cup point. Please drop from the tournament so we do not have any dead games.

12. Top 8 Play Order: The play order for the first game in each match of the top 8 is determined by seeding.

13. Infractions and Penalties: Players are responsible for knowing all violations in this document (http://fiveshards.com/the-shard-cup/rules-and-regulations/)and are subject to it during the tournament.

Banned and Restricted List

Since the client can play best of three matches, we will treat card interactions "As is" and play through what bugs may exist.

Titania's Majesty - To follow HexEnt's lead in banning the card from PVP tournaments, we are banning it for this weekend.

With cards being singleton, are gems as well since they normally follow the same rules with the restriction of 4 each of per deck?

There is no restriction on gem count.

I put together a pretty banging singleton deck but don't have many of the cards and will be away on Saturday. If you're stuck on putting a highlander deck and have an ok-ish collection then send me a PM and I'll link it over =)

Is there a chance of this being postponed if all of the patcher/login issues are not resolved by tomorrow? I am completely unable to get on HEX on any computer at my disposal. I was playing fine earlier today (fine enough to make a deck, test it, and put in a list), but it's completely inaccessible at present until something is fixed. I know I'm not the only one with this problem as there have been multiple threads cropping up, but with no solution thus far and no official word on the problem to my knowledge.

Is there another way? Typing the whole decklist is pretty painful.
