    Custom Presets

So after introducing this game to my friends, we have been playing this game and its expansion a unicornpoopTON. After playing so many games using the randomizer deck, there came the rare occasion of a stack or two just going largely unused. This got me thinking of which stacks would work well with each other to create a unique and engaging game that would only be a rare draw from the randomizer deck. In a nutshell, I wanted to make presets.

So I did. I only made a few as of right now and my group and I haven't got to test all of them out, so please, I welcome any and all feedback you have for them. And of course, this thread isn't just for my own creations. If you have come up with any custom presets yourself, post them! I would love to try them and I'm sure many other users share my sentiment.

Oh, and quick note: All of my presets requires the combining of both Gamers vs. Evil and Rumble in R'lyeh. That includes combining both stacks of PAX Pox, especially for this first preset.

    PVFree for All
"An aggressive game. Places just about every single PVP Attack and PVP Defense card in play. It's all about finding a good balance between defense and offense."
    Green Cards:
    • Baby Ninja
    • Robot Cowboy Angel
    • The Salmon, Salivo, and Hindsight
    • Merch
    • Sinistine, Bow of the Black Maiden

    • Giant Snake
    • Fleshreaper
    • Nipple Crabs
    • Chaos World-Smasher

NOTE: Having Satan be the Red Boss MAY cause imbalance. Use at your own risk.

    Win, Lose, or DRAW
"The more ammunition you have, the more that can be done. Increase the odds of your victory by giving yourself more to do during your turn."
    Green Cards:
    • Magical Unicorn
    • Robot Cowboy Angel
    • Bat Milk
    • Merch
    • TouchWieners
    • Bromance
    • Sorcelator

    Red Cards:

These are GREAT. Can't wait to try some out with my group.

Thoughts on Sad Zombie in the PVP deck? He doubles as both an attack and defense.

totally agree. Sure, defending and drawing cards is nice... but this guy lets you defend by giving the attacker the pax pox you would have gotten? That's just epic!

Heh. Wow. Thanks for all the kind words, guys! I really appreciate it and this also gets me motivated to come up with more, which I hope I'll be able to post soon. In the meantime,

How could I forget about Sad Zombie? I suppose this is before I thought of the "only including one Gold Card" rule, but this is no time for excuses. You're absolutely right! So here's a new variation on the PVFree for All preset as well as an extra one that just may place some new strategies if you have already tried the preset before:

    Skinner's PVFree for All
"Adds a costy, yet powerful Gold Card to play. However, the card yields no Tokens or Power to spend. Certainly a risky venture."
    Green Cards:
    • Baby Ninja
    • Robot Cowboy Angel
    • The Salmon, Salivo, and Hindsight
    • Merch
    • Preschooler Lisa

    Gold Card:
NOTE: Though there is one Gold Card up for buy, there is NO Gold Boss in this preset.
    • Sad Zombie

    Red Cards:
    • Free Play User
    • Giant Snake
    • Fleshreaper
    • Nipple Crabs
    • Chaos World-Smasher
    • Evil Gumbo
    • Head Crabs
    • Laser Squid

NOTE: Having Satan be the Red Boss MAY cause imbalance. Use at your own risk.

    PVFree for All [variation 2]
"A minor change, yet can give a whole new approach to this seemingly straightforward preset."
    Green Cards:
    • Baby Ninja
    • Robot Cowboy Angel
    • The Salmon, Salivo, and Hindsight
    • Merch
    • Preschooler Lisa

    Red Cards:
    • Free Play User
    • Canid
    • Giant Snake
    • Fleshreaper
    • Nipple Crabs
    • Chaos World-Smasher
    • Evil Gumbo
    • Head Crabs
    • Laser Squid

NOTE: Having Satan be the Red Boss STILL causes the probability of imbalance to occur. Use at your own risk.

    Optional Bonus Rule:
For any variation of the PVFree for All preset, when a PAX Pox card is deleted, place it back into the PAX Pox stack instead. Any other cards deleted still gets placed into the Deleted pile as normal.

Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to give this a quick bump for a new preset I designed. My group and I recently tested this out and it was........ interesting, to say the least.

    The Infected
"To delete or not to delete..."
    Green Cards:
    • Sinistine, Bow of the Black Maiden
    • Merch
    • Bat Milk
    • Preschooler Lisa
    • Faerie Candymancer
    • MagiQuest Merchant

    Red Cards:
    • Fleshreaper
    • Giant Snake
    • Div
    • Deep Crow
    • Nipple Crabs
    • Evil Gumbo
    • Chaos World-Smasher
    • Head Crabs

    Special Instructions:
All players start with two PAX Pox cards in their deck.

Hey RJ, First I want to say good job on doing this presets. My friends and I tried some of them the other day and we enjoyed them all. Well except for the PVP ones. The issue I have is that everyone tends to stack up on the defense cards and then no one wants to buy the attack cards. Just something for you to think about. Keep up the good work. I think next gaming night I'm gonna try this "Infected" preset out.

Thanks for the feedback, Plodolo! Glad you and your group enjoyed them! And I can see that that could definitely come as a problem when dealing with PVP-heavy games, but playing it safe never got a whole lot of people anywhere. If you're going to want those victory points and more currency to spend, you're going to eventually need those Attack cards, whether you end up dealing a blow to your opponents with them or not.

Here's another preset for those that are feeling lucky:

    High Roller
"A lot of these cards are based around chance or luck of the draw. Make sure you shuffle well and avoid any black cats before you play this preset."
    Green Cards:
    • Bono Trask: Timesqueezer
    • Giraffe Problems
    • Merch
    • Bat Milk
    • TouchWieners
    • Super Hot Ostrich
    • Psychic Cat, Stone Yeti, and Hawkman with a Laser Gun
    • Pickle Recognition Engine

    Red Cards:
    • Were-Swan
    • Scrotuum
    • Fleshreaper
    • Golf Cyborg
    • Div
    • Evil Gumbo
