    Necrotic vs Undead

I just noticed that these 3 cards have the "Undead" race type.

    1. Wailing Banshee
    2. Headless Executioner
    3. Bone Warrior

Are they different from the Necrotic? Or is it just a typo?

    Cheers

The necrotic are not undead. They consider themselves to be "awakened".

In Entrath, "undead" are the dead that have come back in some kind of corporeal state, whether in spirit form (Wailing Banshee) or zombie form (Headless Executioner, Bone Warrior, and ... er ... zombies).

The necrotic inhabit the bodies of former humans, and their consciousness exists within the Hexing gems themselves. The formerly human bodies serve as a means of mobility, nothing more. The necrotic retain no memories of the human body they now inhabit. Therefore, they have been "awakened" to their true forms. (Why only human bodies? Because **SPOILER REDACTED**, that's why.)

A bit like how the Forsaken are different from the other undead?

    Such a tease, LG.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a source which has more info on the Lore apart from the links on the main page? They're a bit high level.

So if the gems are moved from one body to the next, consciousness moves with them? What if the gems of multiple consciousnesses are in the same body?

I'd love to hear about the original necrotic. In my mind, I see it as a giant shard lands on a corpse, which gets up and goes "this is alright!"

I'm excited for the necrotic block/dungeons now!

Which came first? The Necrotic or the Gem?

Judging that Diamond gems came from the Hex "comet" I am guessing that it is a part of the subconscious of Hex itself or whatever it was that sent the Hex comet in the first place.

They form a single hive mind. Most necrotic have multiple gems inside them; they form a single consciousness. What isn't certain is if there is 1 main gem that controls the others, or if they're all equal in the hive mind.

They all have diamond gems in their eyes I think.

Lixil is apparently trying to make her current form immortal with an unspecified combination of additional gems (must work somewhat given her card) which is apparently considered eccentric by other Necrotic.
