View Full Version : Question regarding payment

Do booster packs become available only if you pay money or can you win them similar to hearthstone, by simply playing the game?

Also how much advantage would a person spending money on the game have vs a person who just spends alot of his time playing the game?

Boosters are pay only. They're $2 each, but through other means can be as low as $1 a pack. If you're talking about playing PvE, like the dungeons and raids, there's no difference whether or not you pay. PvE gameplay can earn PvE cards. The PvP basically is like a standard TCG. The PvP side has a restricted card set that you can only get from boosters or the auction house. You could get PvP cards using PvE resources if someone on the auction house trades for them. Draft formats for PvP require a person to bring in booster packs, so you'd have to play to enter. Constructed formats you could get cards from the AH, but if you never paid for boosters or cards it would be hard to compete.

So far I know there are only 9 ways to get pvp cards and booster at the moment.
Kickstarter, shop, subscription, drafts, tournaments, trading and auction house.
So as a free player you have only two option and that are to trade with friends/guild or use the auction house.

It is hard to say how big the advantage will be because we don't know how the auction house will work out.
Or if there are events for free player and how powerful are the pve cards in comparison to pvp cards.
