Please help me build a list of all the stuff we know is coming, the stuff we hope is coming, and the order we want it in (no dates). This can serve as a visual representation of where we've been and where we're headed. Links to sources would be awesome; I've included some, but more is better.

The following is a ranking of features, ordered for my preference of implementation order. Bug reporting and fixing is taken for granted at every step, realizing that CZE has multiple teams working on different aspects simultaneously. All rankings are open for debate, and please let me know what I've left out. (They'll still be my personal ratings, but I can certainly be influenced by your feedback.)

Color code:
Blue: implemented
Black: officially planned (possibly unknown details)
Green: not officially planned (wish list)

It is a small one, but I'd definitely like to see a more robust priority passing system. If nothing else happens any time soon I'd at least like to have the option to pass for the turn.

We should probably have an entry called something like "quality of life UI upgrades" that includes better priority pass controls (like the keyboard shortcuts MTGO has), card-level pass priority options (right click menu, choose always pass priority on this card), an attack with everything button, support for making command loops to save time, and so forth.

You have Swiss tournaments in blue. You might want to change that, since the only Swiss is sealed. Also, 8-4 is not in and neither is non-Swiss sealed.

Depends how you look at it. We know they're all in and finished. They're currently not opened to the public to keep the people together in the same queues (otherwise waiting times would be too long)

Actually according to this post by Cory (http://forums.cryptozoic.com/showthread.php?t=35067&page=4&p=366718&viewfull=1#post366718), they're currently not opened to the public because there is a bug with the pairings.

Better question, does it actually do anything? I know the buttons have been there a while. Do they work? If so, I'll color it in.

There's item 15 called "UI Polished and Finalized". Does that count? Or do I need a separate entry?

Right there's that too. My comment was more about something that HexRex (I think) mentioned ingame regardign 8-4 and non-swiss sealed (which he also mentioned).

Do you think the KS rewards should be split out? As it doesn't seem their all coming at once.

Also just checking, when you say currency exchange, do you mean purchasing platinum in-game?

Which ones did you have in mind? SLG, VIP, and mercenaries are already on the list.

I mean what's in the link. In short, it's player-to-player, on-AH, direct currency trading. Like being able to list 100 Plat for sale with a price tag of X Gold, where X is just whatever the market will bear.

I'm trying not to "micro-status" things or the list will get unwieldy. I admit it's not a black and white distinction between what's a "major" feature and what's a "minor" upgrade. This one seems in the gray area, but maybe more "minor" than "major".

I was thinking like :-
Dragon Starter Deck
Additional Game Boards
PvE exclusive cards & equipment (which is a sub-list of its own)
2 pieces of legendary equipment (king+)
1 of each crafting material (king+)
20 pieces of equipment (DC)
30 extra boosters(GM)
Raid leader card (RL)
DC/RL/GM in-game perks
Collector perks
Pro player perks
Pro player tournament
AIDA
Playback support
Motion Comics intro sequence
Codex Cryptozoia

Plus there's a couple above GK that are a bit nebulous (such as vanity cards)

It is confirmed only to the extent of Chark's quote at the top of that linked thread. He said something like: "this" is on our to-do list. "This" is vague. I took it in context of the thread in which he posted it, which is 8-man Asynchronous. It makes sense also from the standpoint that there is no reason for 8-man Synchronous to exist in the context of on-demand Constructed and Sealed.

Rokku
06-30-2014, 06:08 PM
yeah it would be awesome to have a buy all button in deck builder that would create an order for all missing cards.
It would get all the cheapest buyout plat/gold cards currently on auction house and give you an invoice preview screen for what it would cost. Then you just hit buy and deck complete!

Also would love it if you can use the proxy cards in AI test matches to see if the deck works before you buy

Yoss

OK, I added those deck builder thing under the launch group. I created the OPEN BETA group and moved most of the CLOSED BETA stuff down into it. By my estimation we could be ready for OPEN very very soon.

No. They're separate servers for other regions that will have different pricing models and will be unable to trade with eachother. Basically they're different servers for regions where the economy is very different, or the rules for art is very different IE China.

Indeed. I had considered breaking it up, but eventually settled on leaving it together until some aspect of it actually gets patched in. At that point, if the patch didn't include everything, I will separate it out.

Of course. :)

I bumped Authenticators up. The rest I left as is. I can go through the reasons one by one if you like. Just ask one by one. (For example, Open Beta is coming very soon. That's official news, so I'm not going to move it down the list to where we might want it to be. Tablet is not due until after launch, also official news.)

Likely pertinent from the latest article (https://hextcg.com/post-convention/):

"Now that those two events are behind us, our teams are preparing for a few things: the next patch featuring UI update, Shattered Destiny release, getting our community involved on our Twitch channel, Arena tuning, getting 128-person tournaments back online (very soon), and more!"

Quest hub, vendors, story progression... Possibly even the way you reach dungeons.

Lockon
09-12-2014, 06:09 PM
Ah, right, totally forgot... no I didn't, I've never even thought about gold stores for PVE... This changes things, changes things indeed.

But I'd still think I'd prefer the dungeons first, the rest of that is extra surrounding the meat(Good Lord, a MMO where I actually want to play the game for the actual game, who'd of thunk?) that is the dungeons, where the vast majority of gameplay is, all your encounters and bosses. Unless I'm mistaken about how that works, in which case, explain as you would to a child. And possibly as if YOU were one as well.

Yoss

PvE is where the Lore lives. Teleporting into a dungeon instead of progressing logically from a starting point (city) through a plot line bothers me a little. I could live with it being the other way around or best of all have it be simultaneous.

Lockon
09-13-2014, 12:13 AM
Ah, but... still, I think the Dungeons should be higher priority, the Cities are still mostly fluff, although in-game gold shops... not exactly sure what you'd BUY in them, as I was under the impression that equipment and PVE cards would all be loot drops and bought from other players instead of in-game vendors, but maybe I misunderstand this?

Anyway, I would think that they would use the World Map and have Cities be another location on it, even if they are still the main center of story and quest progression... well, I'm going to take Destiny's map system as an example of what I'd expect the campaign map to operate like, with the dungeons in the place of missions and the city in place of the Tower. I mean, there's really no need for travel as a major mechanic, unless they intend to add random encounters for some reason, due to the quality of being a series of card games on a flat plane rather than real-time RPG mechanics in a 3D world, savvy?

It may be that you can still buy some crappy equipment from vendors, like you can buy some mostly entry level not very useful items from NPC vendors in most MMO's

Yeah, but.... well, considering HOW equipment works here, with every piece adding unique effects to a certain card in deck, I actually don't really see what makes one piece inherently crappy and one piece inherently good.

I mean, in most RPGs you at least have some pure numerical changes to go off of, but here? Unless they make a lot of "This equipment, but with bigger numbers" which is a TERRIBLE design choice for collectables, Power Creep at it's most pure and vile, I don't actually see how you'd be able to make that decision.

Of course, I also think gear for good common cards will end up being more valuable than rare card equipment, just due to there being a larger overall demand, as having gear for cards you don't own is, well, kind of a waste, you know what I mean?

NoahBuddy
09-13-2014, 06:49 AM
there are rarity tiers for equipment and that is what makes one piece inherently better than another. of all the examples i have seen i don't remember seeing any equipment that was similar but with better numbers. if you look at the pve cards here you can see some examples. http://hex.tcgbrowser.com/#!/cards/pve=true

maybe we will see crafting componants and recipes in stores as well.

I admit I don't know what the gold sinks will be, but they better darn well exist! We're already going to have trouble with Gold inflation most likely. It will be ridiculous if there are no sinks to counter the dungeon looting. For that matter, it would be nice to turn on the sinks FIRST before the dungeons so we can start bleeding off all this excess PvP gold.

After the introduction of Arena, the first taste of PVE for you players, we will set dates where you will be able to win the Brosi-Buk mercenary, Jovial Pippit alternate art, and the 2013 Gen Con promos by playing HEX. That way, players who cannot travel to physical events but love HEX will still be able to access those amazing prizes.

Big news! Chris Woods confirmed informational API is coming, and not far off!

Hey all,

Just wanted to jump in here and say I'll keep an eye on this thread and try to imp events as people bring them up. The way the API is setup it's really easy to add new events to ship out to some external program so people can start collecting data.

Two big points I really wanted to make real fast:
- The API is user opt-in and off by default, so you don't need to worry about it sending out data unless you opt into it first.

- I will never send out any data that is even remotely sensitive. When Risterral says "LOGINNAME" about, he actually means display name (Mine online is 'Chris', for example) -- I would never allow the API to ship out your actual login name, password, IP Address, any computer information, or literally anything that could be remotely considered personal information.

Otherwise, I hope there are some devs out there who want to make some cool apps to coop with the Hex client, and we'll do everything we can to support that initiative.

Chris Woods

I altered the existing (green) item to be for server-side data API, which Chris did not confirm (yet), and I added a new (black) item for client-side data API and put it right after Arena.

==============================

Since I was here editing anyway, I also added C.O.D. Mailing to the list. If someone has a link to where Hex confirmed it, that'd help me greatly. Thanks!

I also moved all non-blue stuff that was under Closed Beta down under Open Beta. And no, I'm not going to add a section for Ninja/Not-Open/Not-Advertised/Whatever Beta.

I do hope Hex eventually has something akin to a "map editor" like in Starcraft/Warcraft, where users can build custom games. I had been calling that a "Development API" in my features list, but now I'm thinking that API isn't really the right term. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the proper term would be.

Custom game mode? Sandbox mode? Game mode mod tools? Kitchen table mode?

No need to confuse things and call it anything else other than a Sandbox feature. IMO, the list should reference what Cory Jones calls it and not your decided terminology. I don't believe I'm alone when I say that I would need to read a definition/key to understand what "HexTCG Editor: 3rd Party Development Tool for User-Defined Modes" represents.

Deleted "code optimized" since it's more of an ongoing thing.

Thank you very much for checking the list. Not many people do.

I am 100% certain Cory mentioned PaRB on a stream as a desired feature back in 2013. I am maybe 60% certain that he said he'd like a way for people to build decks with cards they don't own and then buy them directly from the card manager through an AH linkage; the intent was not proxies for actually playing with, just a way to plan your card buying easier. It would also help maintain deck integrity when you sell off a card that was in a deck; you'd then have a way to know what card went missing when you load up the deck.

Either or both of those could have been abandoned at this point, but they never comment. :(

I am concerned about how difficult things will be... The AI needs work and I felt like the Frost Ring was too easy mostly because we are starting out already "geared up". How will they retain intrigue and challenge for people who already have all the cards? Sounds like they are at least thinking about it.

I felt like I skipped all the way to the end of the game kind of by already having all the cards. Like being auto level 80 in WOW or whatever equivalent. Maybe auto-level 75.

You don't need all the cards for his point to be valid. You just need enough of the good ones. How much PVE content has a player completely trivialized by having access to a Tits deck, or full-on Slaughtergear's, when new players with only the Starter Trials to their names will begin on the same content?

I donna I hope it's fun for both players. Frankly I only got 1600 cards so I don't have a lot of high end cards. (yes I know my being on since set 1 I should have 50k cards and be really good at arena I'm not.. either of these things.) hopefully I'll have fun and it's not as difficult... Arena be easier with Hograth randomly popping in and buffing foe to high hell.

Yeah this is my biggest worry for the game. I will have invested so much time into it and by having done so I will trivialize the game I was most looking forward to. And the people who have the most invested will be the most let down as they will have the largest collections but also likely are the ones who have built up the game they are imagining the most. Hopefully they can buff the AI and knock out some hard modes quickly. Urunaaz is an example of the wrong kind of replayability.

Being able to beat the arena with your deck is one thing, optimizing a deck to beat the arena is totally different and much more difficult. Similarly, how many decks can you optimize to similar effect?

There is plenty for veteran players to do. With more cards comes more card combinations we can shift through.

Apologies if I am misconstruing this statement, but it is not the arena that concerns this discussion as I understand it. The question is "Have we inadvertently cheated ourselves of a satisfying progression by amassing a terrifying collection prior to the launch of real PVE."

An auction house that actually promotes auctions rather than sniping or seller setting the price is top of my list.

The simplest measure (I think) would be to have new high bids increase the deadline on the auction by some significant amount.
A much more precise indication of when an auction ends would also be helpful as would an tolerable ("good" is rather ambitious) interface

I'm not sure this qualifies as a "feature" large enough to be on this list, but I thought it was worth capturing in this thread at least. It's a really neat idea for how to increase the immersion for PvE while still tying activity into the Hex marketplace.

My post might not have been clear. I was suggesting that the NPCs are just windows into the AH buyout process. They would have a list of cards they sell, and display the lowest buyout price in gold to the player. If the player buys a card from them, it takes their gold, sends the gold to the AH lister, takes the card from the AH and gives it to the player. It's not generating cards at all.

While it's not a Feature patch per se, today's patch is nevertheless a big milestone for Hex since it finally puts to rest the Hasbro lawsuit and also makes some significant core system changes.

Armies of Myth Update Patch – 12/09

GENERAL
•Booster Packs now contain 1 additional common and 1 additional uncommon, for a total of 17 cards per pack
•The Graveyard zone is now named the Crypt. The game text of many cards and equipment have been updated to reflect this
•The Spectral Lotus Garden, Spectral Lotus, and Black Tiger have had their art and names changed to Spectral Oak, Spectral Acorn, and Dream Squirrel respectively
•The King Sleeve art has been replaced with art from Spectral Oak
•Murder has been renamed to Kill
•Convocation Packs no longer look like they are Primal Chests in your stash

TOURNAMENTS

The order in which cards appear in the draft selection window will now be Legendary > Rare > Uncommon > Common

GAMEPLAY
•Champion starting health values have all been adjusted. You can now view a champion’s starting health value while selecting a champion for your deck
•Dream Squirrel (formerly Black Tiger) now reads: “When this enters play, create a random rare or legendary that you meet the threshold requirements to play and put it into your hand.”
•Decreased Dream Squirrel’s attack to 2 (down from 3)
•Spectral Acorn (formerly Spectral Lotus) now reads: “When this enters play, draw a card. [ACT] → <3/0>. Gain three of the same thresholds of your choice. Then, Hatch this.” (Hatch is a keyword that means: “Irreversibly transform this into a Dream Squirrel. This change persists even after the game ends.”)
•Blood Sphinx‘s passive champion power has been restored
•Minor Wild Orb of Primordium is now correctly active in all zones

Note that Dream Squirrel is mechanically different than Black Tiger and most people consider the change to be a nerf to this Kickstarter reward. An article from Ben Stoll is expected to be forthcoming on this issue.

The future of hex article indicated the remaining classes were not all coming at once(ranger is first, supposedly included with AZ2), each one should probably be on its own line.

Here are the ones I have suggested but do not see on the list (minus a few joke/impossible ones I had thrown in there):

Equips for all card (except basic Shards, natch)
MPvE (which leads to)
Deck builder returns to last deck and last search/filter
Sell from deck builder/collection
Ability to turn off chest/Kismet animations.
Ability to turn off 'no rewards' message.
BYOP drafts
reverse AH
Prismatic Gems
Log Horizon crossover card set
unlockable classes
unlockable races
Consumables
PS4/Wii U release
non-card equips (like a generic chest item that give +2 starting health, for when none of the cards in your deck have a chest slot item)
animated card art
the ability to disable card art animation
minimum card text font size, with scroll bar when card text exceeds available space
new keyword 'Eternal' (this card cannot be voided in any zone and cannot be returned to your hand from play)

Noted. I will catch it up on next update, thanks. Some of those things aren't really "features" so I will probably leave those off the master list. Maybe someone else could start a list of the "little things" (that are still quite nice to have) that do not fit on a "features and milestones" list? It's somewhat of a blurry line, of course.

Ability to turn off chest/Kismet animations. - QOL ONLY
Ability to turn off 'no rewards' message. - QOL ONLY
BYOP drafts - NOT SURE WHAT THIS MEANS
reverse AH - ALREADY ON LIST (BID/ASK)
Prismatic Gems - THIS IS CONTENT, NOT A FEATURE
Log Horizon crossover card set - NOT SURE WHAT THIS MEANS
unlockable classes & unlockable races - NOT SURE WHY WE'D WANT THIS
Consumables - ALREADY ON LIST
PS4/Wii U release - ADDED TO LIST.

BYOP is bring your own packs basically freeform drafting where you decide what packs to add to the draft rotation.
Log Horizon crossover card set is like a non hex themed set example star wars themed set.

unlockable classes & unlockable races - NOT SURE WHY WE'D WANT THIS

First of all, milestones very broad term. Getting equips for all items may be content, but it is also a major milestone. As are certain variants like the prismatic gems or generic equips.

As for the specific quoted text, why wouldn't we want more races (beyond the main eight) and more classes (beyond the main six), and adding them as a something that is unlocked in some way adds playability. Like for example, the squirrels vs dinos dungeon, might have a special branch with extra hard fights that lets you unlock the Squirrel race. Or that Shin'hare dojo in the lake; once you beat it with all eight races and all six classes it could unlock the Ninja class. Stuff like that.

We will never see all cards have equip. It is a goalpost that will continuously be pushed back. More sets = more equip. Also they want to be able to release equipment for "your favorite old card" as a surprise I would imagine.

Or make some of them exceedingly rare drops in raids having 50 exceedingly rare drops in a raid actually makes them quite less rare. Not for the specific drop mind you but as a whole.

just thought about something (i haven't checked if it's in the list)
what about putting some notes for the players in the friend list (ex: trader, play tester, raid companion, rock league player, etc.) my list is rather small but i dont remember why most of my "firends" are friends

I'm not arguing about having more or less races. I suppose more is always better in some sense. Your ideas above are interesting as a delivery method, but I think the underlying "feature" is "more classes, more races". I'll add it.
